ivyleaguechamp, if you're fortunate enough to get in you'll soon get it. Your 15 minutes of specialness dissapates very rapidly.

Just to give my two cents on "dropping the H-bomb" ... it's one of those two-sided things. It is quite fun ... very enjoyable if I do say so myself, once you've done it ... BUT the way one goes about it is what makes the situation kinda uncomfortable, because you feel like you can't just come out and SAY IT because that would seem like bragging. My parents and my friends and I all joke about it, saying you have to be humble to the point where you seem ashamed of where you go, LOL ... so the conversation usually ends up something like this:

Other Person - Hey, I haven't talked to you in a while, how are you?
Me - I'm doing great, you?
Other - Great. Didn't you just graduate?
Me - Yeah, just this past June.
Other - Oh, so you're in school now?
Me - Yup.

Pause while they wait for me to elaborate ... when I don't: Other - That's good, where?? Me - Massachusetts. Other - Oh, where exactly? Me - Boston area. Other - Oh, do you go to BC or Tufts or somewhere? Me - Uh, no ... Another pause while they wait for elaboration and I grow increasingly uncomfortable as they grow increasingly aggravated ... Other - What school then??? Me - (quickly) Harvard. (Immediately changing the subject) Anyway so what've you been up to lately?

LOL
It gets to a point where being able to tell is a relief ... like confessing to some awful crime ...

ahh yes....but they go back to the harvard answer..and there like wowwwwww

yeah, there's a look on people's faces when you say the word 'harvard'...even if I tell people I'm applying, they go "oh, wow"

I knoww..thats why i didnt tell anyone..i say HO hehe..
