The only thing that appears on my status report is my hs transcript. No letters of rec are listed (even though they were sent with the transcript) nor the counselor report, or ACT/SAT scores. My app was received about a month ago. I don't want to bother the admissions officers, but I also don't want to find out at the last minute that I'm missing something. Is anyone else having this issue?

Dean J has repeated this time and time again: don't freak out! :) They will contact you if you're missing something, fear not. The system isn't automated; someone has to sit there and go, one by one, through each person checking things off. I wouldn't worry about it, if you sent it all in, it's most likely there.

lol, thanks, not freakin out, but UNC said they would notify me if I was missing something, and they didn't. Then I found out 3 weeks after the EA deadline that they didn't ever get my updated ACT scores, which were significantly higher (only after calling them to confirm did I find this out). Turns out there was a glitch in the ACT system. So I'm a little weary when schools say they will only notify you if they are missing something; it seems much more beneficial to the applicant to list what is received, like many larger schools in the country do. But thanks for the response, I guess I'll just trust that they know everything I wanted them to know.

I don't know vc08, I know the admissions office is really busy, but I had mishaps with my application last year too--not at UVA, but at UNC-CH. My last name has a hyphen in it. So when all my info went to UNC, some of it had the hyphen, and some of it didn't, so they created 2 files for 2 different people!! I only caught it by calling them about something, I forget, but thank the Lord I did!! Of course I was briefly freaked out, but got the problem solved on time for EA.
If it doesn't update soon, I don't think that I could resist the temptation to call or e-mail them>>>it's kind of only fair.

Agreed. For right now, let them take care of stuff. Wait another couple of weeks before you call/email them. They still have two months left to get everything in order, and they've only had a month so far, so I would wait till the halfway point, at least.

The only recs that show up on your status report are the ones that are submitted online, so don't worry too much about those not showing up. Our poor processing folks would be chain to their computers for week if they had to type in the name of every single recommender that wrote a letter to us. There are kids out there who send loads of extra letters.

You self reported your SAT/ACT scores and when those companies send your scores electronically, we update those records if there are new scores.

The counselor report is stapled to your transcript. No worries there, either. If we were missing that, we'd just call your GC directly and not worry you about that.

Just keep an eye on your email and the spam box to make sure UVa mail is getting through. We don't email a lot of marking material right now so you know that UVa that is sent right is about you application.

You will get some email from SEAS if you applied to that school, as they have some programs coming up that they'll want to let applicants know about. They haven't requested a list from me yet, but I'm sure they will in the next few weeks.

So, for now, sit back and try not to think about this whole thing. I know this is the toughest part of the whole process. Hang in there!

ok, I think I get it. still a little confused on the tests though. Should they, or shouldn't they show? For example, I self-reported my newest ACT score on the app, but just sent the official score the night before I submitted my application. Is it correct, then, that the only information that should appear until my decision is "official HS transcript"? Just so I know what to look for.

Thanks again, everyone, you've all been very gracious.

The scores aren't going to show up on the status page...they're already on your testing page. So, just as your status doesn't say your essays are here, it's not going to say that testing is here.

If your recs came in by mail, your status page won't change once the transcript is marked as here.
