hey guys, I transferred to to a different college after finishing 2 years in the previous one and have to stay for 5 years in order to complete the degree (Mechanical Engineering). The thing is, I was under alot of depression and sickness that I was not doing so well during these college years and I don't think I have a high chance of getting a internship during the summer before my graduation due to my bad gpa. Although I am planning to talk to my advisor regarding this matter, I would like you guys to tell me if this is a good idea or not. Do you think staying extra year (meaining, I'll be staying in college for 6 years in total) to do the co-op for work experience is a good idea? I'm only saying this just in case if I don't get an internship (I thought it would be better to graduate a little late with experiences rather than graduating early without one). It says on the website that "In the undergraduate option, a cumulative minimum GPA of 2.2 or above is required and you must be in good academic standing".

What do you guys think?
