Staying Overnight

Can high school seniors stay overnight as guests with friends who attend UNC? I had a couple of recent high school graduates asking me to come visit them in the fall/spring this year and was wondering if that is allowed?

I’m assuming you mean staying in the dorm? Off campus, I’m sure there is no problem. I had guests over when I lived on campus but not sure if its officially allowed…I think so? If google searches don’t pull up anything, have a UNC student just ask their Residential Adviser on their floor.

It shouldn’t be a problem if you clear it with your RA and your roommate (of you have one)

lol yeah, not a problem at all. Just make sure it’s fine with your roommate. And you don’t even need ask your RA.

You can definitely have people sleep over in the dorm, but just make sure the roommate of the person you’re staying with knows what’s going on, and I wouldn’t stay for more than a night or two (just because the bathroom situation might get awkward if you’re staying in a suite, and having eight people share one bathroom with no overnight guests is bad enough, ha ha). You don’t need to ask the RA.

thanks guys! I will probably just spend one night with my friends

Just spent two days there as a guest. The only problem (assuming the roommate’s are down) is that dorms with hall bathrooms are single-sex, meaning if you’re staying with an opposite-sex friend, showering can be difficult to maneuver.

Just go to a floor which matches your gender. Unless you stay in one of the few non-coed dorms, I don’t see why this would be a problem at all.
