So, I was offered membership into the Steinhardt honors program and I wanted to know some more about it. Like, what are the Dean’s Global Honor Seminars like? And other than these seminars, what is different from being a regular student? Is it difficult to maintain a 3.5 average? If any current students in the program or anyone who knows anything about it could give me some more insight, it would be greatly appreciated.
You can should be able to go on Albert and look up what the actual seminars are. They generally will come with a travel opportunity. Both D’s were Steinhart scholars, but the program has changed since younger D was a freshman. Back then there was a scholars program that had weekly Friday seminars for no credit. There was a unifying theme to the lectures and an international travel component. D went to Cuba in 2013. But since then, I think the classes offered are credit courses that you can take in lieu of core classes.
