Steinhardt Question(s)

I have a question It’s sorta a chances thread

According to Princetonreview.com, this in NYU’s stats:

Admissions

Freshmen Academic Profile
Average SAT: 1331
SAT - Verbal Range (25-75%): 620-710
SAT - Math Range (25-75%): 620-710
TPR Projected Range SAT Writing:
640-700
Average Verbal SAT: 663
Average Math SAT: 668

ACT Composite Range (25-75%): 27-31
Average ACT: 29
Average High School GPA: 3.63
Students in top 10% of HS class: 68%
Students in top 50% of HS class: 100%
Students from Public School: 69%

Here it says that the average SAT is 1331(1996 on the New) and the average ACT is 29. So here’s the deal. I have a bad grade lets say for argument’s sake that I can raise it up to a 1880 or so. I take the ACT and get a 32, supposedly. I apply to NYU. Now I know there going to see both scores, but my ACT is higher than their average. Do they weight it the same way if my SAT scores are above average? Will they be more likely to accept me because for my good ACT score, or will my SATs hinder it.

Let me point out that I mean this on simplest terms. I know that there are a multitude of things that affect being accepted or not. Standardized testing is just one of many.

So basically this boils down to if the ACT and SAT are evenly weighted and if there willing to over look mediocre SAT scores for a far better ACT. Your opinions mean a lot to me.

Let me clarify I will be applying to Steinhardt with an education major. I already plan to attend their teaching seminar at the beginning of next year

Also, and info on their education program as far as male to female ratio, prestige, that sorta thing. I hear Steinhardt is easier to get into than CAS, so I was wondering if the stats are somewhat lowered.
