I recently applied to the full programs of 5 different acting schools in NYC… Circle in the Square, Stella Adler, AADA, Neighborhood Playhouse and Atlantic Acting School… and I got accepted into all of the programs! I am very excited but also very indesicive about which of these is the best option, which of these is the best school with the better professors and which gives the best training… I would appreciate it so much if I could get some advise on this from someone who knows about these schools or some of them! Thank you!!!
Read The Technique of Acting by Stella Adler, On Acting by Sanford Meisner, and A Practical Handbook for the Actor by members of the Atlantic Theatre Company like you should have done before you applied to see which approach to and philosophy of acting resonates best with you and go with Stella’s, Neighborhood Playhouse, or Atlantic. The other two don’t enjoy the same level of repute.
@fishbowlfreshman thanks for answering but I don’t think you “should” tell me what I “should” do or not… I was expecting a friendly answer, not one which makes me feel you are diminishing me when you don’t even know anything about me or what is going on, I have been at Stella Adler for a workshop so I know the tecnique, Ive also taken meisner classes and read the atlantic handbook… I am looking for a personal advise in which of those 3 is the best in terms of reputation and quality…
