STEM school help

I am going to a first year STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) magnet high school starting next fall. I am taking geometry as an 8th grader and i was hoping to self study and test out of Algebra 2 over the summer and go straight into Pre Calc as a freshmen. However they will not be offering any math higher than Algebra 2 during the first year because the school will only have 90 freshmen and no 10th 11th or 12th grade the first year. So i will have to resort to no summer math. Will this hurt me in terms of getting into a school like MIT or Stanford for engineering. Also how would it look on my college apps to be the student body president as a freshmen?

Not taking Pre-Calculus freshman year will hurt you. I know a guy who doubled up in math Freshman year (Algebra II and Pre-Calculus) and now as a sophomore taking AP Calculus AB/BC and we don’t go to a STEM school. Your fine, relax, you’re only an 8th grader. Colleges in general love to see students taking leadership roles in high school. Doesn’t really matter what grade you are in, they love it. doesn’t matter what club either: SGA, FFA (YOSH~! I’m Sentinel!!!), Debate, Anime Club etc. Don’t stress to much about, and good luck.

Honestly, I don’t think that not taking pre-calc freshman year will hurt you. When you take the math classes varies a lot between school to school, so it doesn’t make sense for colleges to count against students who take classes “late.” As long as you take challenging classes and do well you’ll be fine. Plus, you’re an eighth grader so I recommend you go out and chill.

OOPPS Sorry. I wrote that wrong. I meant to say that that not taking Pre-Calculus Freshman will NOT hurt you. Lol sorry for the misunderstanding. Even if I did mean what I said in the first sentence in my first post, I will go against everything I believe in lol. Sorry.
