Step 4, what now???

My AIS moved me to step 4 this morning, and I was wondering if that means I am rejected. Do you think they send out rejections this early, or is there still a chance I am accepted? From everything I've seen on cc most of the applicants who have moved to step 4 in the past couple of days have been wait listed. I was wondering what you guys think, thanks.

Keep checking. Step 4 will probably be step 5 by tonight—or possibly by Monday. Mine went from 4 to 5 in about 12 hours. Friday early morning it was at 4…by 6pm it was at 5.

Probably waitlist/Blinn Team/TAMUG/PSA(TAMU system colleges) options. You can apply for them all.

I don’t think rejections will go out until later, but I could be wrong.

Good luck!

Do they do bulk waitlisting because mine moved to 4 this morning to, or is anyone gonna be accepted that moved today?

son’s has not so far but a friend of his did about 2 hours ago with full admit. So there really must be no reason to this process.

Son’s AIS status moved from Step 3 to Step 4 and said a letter was mailed out yesterday, March 11th. I have a feeling it will be a waitlist or Blinn. He already started considering another school a few weeks ago. This wait is almost too long when you have been accepted at 4 other universities.

pearce04 - it is a long wait for some. You should know on AIS soon. It does seem that the waitlist notices are going out, but one here said they got admission - so don’t give up just yet.
what other universities has he been accepted?

Hi,
My AIS moved me to step 4 yesterday and said that a decision was mailed out on March 11th. Did the waitlist letter say when they would let you know? I am between A&M and another school with A&M being #1, and I need to let the other school know.

Wait list decisions will be made in May. It was very clear that students should have another plan in place. Like many of you, that is exactly what my daughter is doing. We are going forward with the assumption that she won’t get in. It would be great if something worked out with A&M, but it is quite unlikely.

I went back and looked decisions will be sent May 1 to June 15.

A Ton of my friends who are in the 3rd quarter are being put on the waitlist along with me. I’m just surprised me and them made it it seems like they are handing these waitlist offers like candy. Do they reject anyone?

I agree with you Texasboy! I feel like they are giving out waitlist offers to everyone

is that waitlist is blinn team also…so if you don’t accept the waitlist you can become blinn team? I am sort of confused on that part.
I am also very confused why my son is still on Step 4…I feel it is rejection.

I also feel like it’s a rejection. I mean come on it a&m talks about the waitlist and how it’s a select group, my a**! This is crap all of my friends who applied got it now we can wait and watch everyone get rejected off the waitlist I’m tired of waiting. If I’m gonna get rejected reject me

Thumbs up for the post above me.

Hey guys so I got the chance to visit A&M today with my friend who also got waitlisted (He chose Waitlist and Blinn) But what they told him was the following:

They said that Yes, he chose Blinn and Waitlist but that it does not assure he will get either. They told him that he would be considered for Blinn Team so he was not officially in the Blinn Team program. They said they would notify him if he made the cut for Blinn team around the end of May… He was not a happy camper since he though he was already IN blinn team.

Just thought I shared this information with yall I’m not sure if the AIS does not explains this well enough or if he just did not read it properly.
Best of luck.

If this the first campus visit for both of you, this may have a little to do with why you are wait listed. It is SO important to visit the campus before you apply, or at the very least during the admissions application period.

My friend waitlisted
I got Gateway Summer program
And no that was my second time I went to look at doorms and he has gone like 3 or 4 times already to different programs they have going on

Great. Glad you have gateway. That’s next to full admission

Yeah, thanks! Now I realize how lucky I got with this opportunity since there was a lot of people who applied this year.
Best of luck to everyone

@texasboy

A&M does waitlist a lot of students. According to their common data set report for the entering class of 2009:
23,000 applicants
15,000 acceptances
6,000 waitlists

looks like they offer waitlists to all except the very bottom of the pool
