Yea signed my SIR a while ago

still no step invitation?

Nope. Maybe they be late on me? lol...

Usually the majority of invitations for STEP are for students in EOP. It replaces your orientation link with the STEP invitation. Being invited does not mean you will automatically get in, though.

You can definitely stay for the weekends during STEP.. it's mostly free time, but on Sunday night, there are floor meetings that are mandatory. Also, on Saturday they usually hold a mandatory event.. but after that, it's all free time =)

If on your application to Davis you put your ethnicity as "Caucasian" and/or you are financially well off, I don't think you'll be receiving an invitation to STEP.

And sorry for the confusion about "signing out for the weekend" - my parents lived about an hour from Davis so I liked going home on the weekends to hang out with friends before summer break ended. Plus I was involved in painting a mural at my high school. The vast majority of STEPpers stay on campus in the dorms the entire time. You can not stay on campus though for that ~1-2 weeks between STEP & regular school, even though you know which dorm will be yours at that point.

Ah, thanks for the clear-up, Pearl and Marx :)

It's getting more common that being caucasian puts you at a disadvantage!! You cant apply for many of the summer programs nor can you apply for scholarships and now you cant take advantage of STEP.

I'm one for everyone should have a chance.

dont you know its not politically correct to be a white male anymore? geeze.
