Part of the Finals Weekend festivities, Valediction is the ceremony at which the Class of 2013 will pay tribute to their time at the University and present the class gift and University awards. It will be held May 18 at 11 a.m. on the Lawn."

Now that is going to be fun. Major congrats to the UVA folks who signed him!

As a parent of a fourth year, I are looking forward to hearing Mr. Colbert in May. A nice finish to a good four years.

I may have to come back to Grounds for this. I wonder who’ll they get to give the graduation speech.

Almost makes up for the scaffolding.

^^ Agreed! Well, my son dealt with school construction for elementary, middle, and high school, so I guess graduating with the Rotunda obscured by scaffolding is only fitting!

I remember many years ago, during a previous renovation of the Rotunda, the whole outside of the Dome was painted with a bright red primer. I wish I had taken a photo.

How long will the scaffolding be up? Is there a chance they’ll be finished by graduation?
