I'm interested in law and was wondering if you can major in something other than poli sci and then go to law school. What process do you have to go through to become a lawyer?

there's another stereotypical major besides poli sci that leads to law. and that is Philosophy. so you could think about that if you're interested in it.

You can major in anything and go to law school. I majored in psychology; I had classmates who majored in biology, English, history, engineering, music, etc. I never took a poli sci course in my life, and have had a successful legal career.

To go to law school, you need to take the LSAT exam, and apply and get admitted to an accredited law school. Following a 3 year course of study, you graduate and study for the bar examination for whichever state(s) you want to become admitted to practice. The bar exam can be 2-3 days and varies from state to state (although most states use the "multi-state" exam for at least part of it. You then get letters of recommendation attesting to your character, and if you pass the bar, you are sworn in, generally by the highest court in the state, and you are licensed as an attorney.
