Ok. so the people at my school have etched in stone some i think false stereotypes about MIT, which is where I really want to go.
They say that MIT is a place full of people with no lives (social)
and they study hard and nothing else...

I went to the admissions session and I thought
that the life there is fun. (just the hacking culture alone.)

You can find any and every kind of person and social life here, including whatever stereotype you’re into if you’re into stereotypes. When I told friends from home about my dorm and social life they decided I live in a hippie commune.

It is definitely a lot of hard work, so there’s not as much time to have a social life as there is at less rigorous schools, but that doesn’t mean people don’t have fun. Check out [Recent Entries | MIT Admissions](Blogs | MIT Admissions) to see some of the cool things that current students are doing - it’s definitely more than just studying!

@lidusha: What’s your dorm? Starting this fall, I’m going to be '17, and that sounds awesome. PM me if you’d like, I don’t know if I have PM privileges yet.

There are a number of dorms here that resemble hippie communes. It just depends on what particular qualities of a hippie commune you want. CPW is a good time to figure that out.
