Stereotypes About Your State, School or Country?

hahaha oh god, I just realized it says my state on my info…

Fail.

Correct on college. The state isn’t on your list, although I can see why you would think those, so here are some more stereotypes:

Rural mountain folk in the west, military folk in the southeast, bureaucratic folk in the north, and aristocrats in the center.

State: Corruption, the mob, corn, snow, Polish people.

HS: Teacher-student sexual relations, sporting event-related riots.

Currently not in college, and lacking a definite first choice.

State: Mormons

School: Average students, run-down building. We’re right between the rich school and the poor school, so we have an interesting mix.

State: NY

School: known as the gay school with all the potheads

^^ omg, it’s Utah.

Country: Terrorists, Camel Jockies, Dirty Bearded Faggots, Child Molestors…you get the point.

State: Cars, snow, lakes. Only one major city, the rest of the state doesn’t matter. Unemployment.

Town: According to Urban Dictionary, "Possibly one of the most boring towns in southwest (state). Populated by mostly rich people looking to settle down and have kids, the kids are usually stoners since there is nothing else to do in St. Hoe. "

School: judging by the urban dictionary posts, we are hated by everyone because we are rich haha.

Are there any stereotypes about PA? I can’t think of any…

State: blonde surfers
Region (of the state): everyone is an Asian computer engineer

High School: a strange marriage between artsy, preppy, and football-crazed… o.0

School:

My school was founded by a college so it has the name of the college in it so anyone who asks what school I go to and I tell them they think I’m a genius and skipped 50 grades and went to college. People have either never heard of it because it’s relatively new (though coming up on like 7 years is pretty old IMO) or they think it’s like insanely smart.

School: Full of rich, drug using, alcohol drinking pretentious teenagers. For the most part it’s true.

State: Polo playing, country-club attending folks, sperrys and polo shirts, great weather

HS: Ghetto, annoying, bad at all sports except Boys Bball and football.

All of the HS stuff is true. The state stuff is far from it.

^^ Hmm… Florida?

Not Florida.

@Fat_Nerd Saudi Arabia?

@seancarpenter Michigan

@dblazer Full of quakers, Philly has notoriously bad sports fans, and Pitt is a smoggy industrial town. Stereotypes.

@heartist Hawaii, or more likely California (particularly Palo Alto area, NorCal)

@salone4u South Carolina?

State: Redneck, tobacco-growing, ignorant

School: Diverse (There is no other way to put it. We have kids straight out of private school and kids straight out of Juvie. Kids who are Black, White, Asian, and Hispanic, and at every academic achievement level). Great at sports - especially football. Lots of weed. I swear to God if someone wanted to make a documentary about the stereotypical American public high school we’d be the perfect candidates.

College (the one I plan to go to): Really sports-obsessed, party school, a lot to do, all white kids, really cold with lots of snow (though not this winter).

State: “Always” sunny, has a large population, surfer dudes
High School: competitive, suicidal people, must take all aps junior year, everyone’s parent is a doctor, researcher, engineer or computer programmer

Its not S. Carolina, but y’all are in the right area.

^Virginia?
