Stereotypes About Your State, School or Country?

State: we all live on farms and grow corn and raise pigs (99% not true where I live although my best friend does live on a pig farm haha)

School: rich white spoiled athletic kids (so true) our school is fairly well known in the eastern half of the state but thats only because our football team normally makes it to at least state quarterfinals

helloel, you got it. You remembered from the CC Game: guess apperances didn’t you? Lol

I feel like the stereotypes here in Virginia stem from UVa. Down there, they are true most of the time.

State: Corruption, mobsters, corn, hillbillies, funny accents
HS: That high school where they send to the ‘bad’ kids from neighboring schools so that they won’t get in fights.

Salone4u: haha I actually didn’t remember! There were so many people on that thread I get it all mixed up.

Ahaha helloel. Your prob just a good guesser.

@Cynosuree: Illinois?

Also, what do you guys think of this? Does it describe your state?

[50 State Stereotypes (in 2 minutes) - YouTube](<a href=“50 State Stereotypes (in 2 minutes) - YouTube”>50 State Stereotypes (in 2 minutes) - YouTube)

Eh, no one has guessed mine yet.

^ Illinois, right?

I wanna play…

State: Stupid Governor, flat and plain and boring, nice lake, miles of rural areas, concreated population, Racing cars, mixed time zones

HS: Melting pot, semi-ghetto, smart and jock, growing weed problems, “trimester folks”

Country: Overweight, dysfunctional Congress, stupid politicians blah!, united in time of turmoil, divide over issues like health care and sex, rebuilding country, strongest army in the world, bout to start up war in middle east…

^State: Indiana? Tennessee?

State: Rich, good schools, stuck-up, full of older people, absolutely nothing to do, no reason anyone would ever want to come here
HS: Poor, ghetto (for suburbs), underachieving, promiscuous, full of stoners… etc.

@Wiscongene - Video fits.

Country (I know its in my username!): Posh, stuck up, stuffy etc

High school: Very posh, smart - by the local comprehensives, Chavvy - the local private schools (there are a lot)

And if you guys want more American stereotypes, I’m happy to help :)

Haha Ok, UKgirl, hit me. What are some stereotypes about the US? Preferably not the obvious ones like dumb, militaristic, fat etc.

Oh yea, I forgot another one about my state: Flannel-wearing. I never really noticed this one until it was pointed out to me, but yea, there is a lot of flannel around here. :P

Oh yes, and as an American, I have a few more stereotypes about the UK:

Tea-drinking, bad-teeth, techno-crazed (well, all of Europe, really), very white, crowded, football-crazed (soccer, I mean ;)), prim and proper, smoggy.

I could think of more depending on which part of the UK you live in.

State: Rich, Suburban, and Liberal.

^^ Hmm… CT?

@dfree, yup, I couldn’t really think of anything else to say. I think we’re one of those small states that no one thinks about.
