Stereotypes: which ones are true/untrue for you?

Puerto Rican

-I do try in school.
-I am not a deadbeat.
-I do eat rice and x-food nearly every day.
-My mom does start yelling in Spanish when she gets mad (and I’ve grown fond of saying “tanta mierda”)
-My dad is an immigrant.
-I do in fact know who my dad is!

haha! thank you ilikeUW
just saw 62ayyy’s post, now I have to add something:

yes, my mom’s an immigrant
yes, I know who my father is

:)

Jewish
Stereotypes I fulfill:
Like 90% of my family are doctors
I love food, especially bagels and kugel
For pretty much every holiday, the food is like the most important part
I’m obsessed with the Holocaust
I’m smart and intellectual
My mom is pretty overprotective and worries A TON.
My grandmother, before she died, would always worry about me going outside in “only a sweater.” It’d be like mid-70s and sunny lol.

Ones I don’t:
I’m tall
I don’t have a “Jewish nose”
I’m not cheap
I don’t want to be a doctor
I’m really not hairy at all–I actually have so little/light hair on my legs, I don’t even have to shave them unless I want them to be smooth. It’s awesome. Like if you look at them, you can’t tell at all that I haven’t shaved unless you’re literally pressing your face against my leg.

Californian
Stereotypes I fulfill:
I wasn’t born here
I live two blocks from the beach
I’ve vegetarian
Pot is awesome. We’ll just leave it at that.
I say hella–hella much
I support gay rights and marijuana legalization and all sorts of other crap

Ones I don’t:
I’m really not laid-back AT ALL. I’m actually pretty tightly wound.
I HATE the sun
I love rain
I don’t talk like a Valley Girl or know any celebrities
I suck at surfing
I’m very conservative (except on social issues. But I hate Democrats way more than Republicans or Tea Party ppl)
I have seen snow very often and love it and I really really miss SEASONS!

hahaha that was fun!

Asian.
Yes: Smart/nerd/whatever, good at math and science, and I guess English and history too, play videogames (including WoW ahahah :/), can’t do sports, care about fashion, planning to go to med school, have glasses, listen to K-pop, play an instrument, strict parents, own cell phone charms, eat rice like erryday.
No: I’m tall (5’10") and have green-brown-hazel eyes, super procrastinator, don’t understand computers that well, have an ass, socially liberal and economically conservative (libertarian if you want to call it that), drink with friends, have a non-Asian boyfriend, super social, can’t use chopsticks, can’t speak Korean, AND I’m a good driver knocking out the women stereotype as well.

I’m an Asian girl.

Am I a crazy smart nerd or a super math genius?: Heck. No.

Most people are surprised to hear that I suck at math, and that I’m not taking AP Calculus, or whatever. My best subject is actually English.

Am I short? Not really. Unless you count 5’5’’ as short.

Am I artistic and/or play a musical instrument (flute, violin, piano) extremely well? : Erm, kinda. I guess I can draw well enough, but the only instrument I play is a very non-Asian acoustic guitar.

I also don’t know how to use chopsticks, hate Chinese food, can’t read or write Chinese, and I don’t every plan on becoming a doctor, buisnessperson, or lawyer.

On the other hand like the person above me, I do eat rice everyday. I wear glasses, I’m obsessed with anime and manga (or an otaku) , my parents are rather strict, I speak Chinese at home, and I’m nonathletic.

I’m white and southern:
NO I’M NOT RACIST, NOR IS ANYONE IN MY FAMILY
i’m not a redneck, nor is my family
i’m spiritual, not religious
however, i ADORE southern food [soul food]. pass the biscuits and gravy, please!

i’m a girl:
um… i have a uterus?

I was writing one out for musician and then realized that I fit most of the stereotypes that I can think of… If any of you can think of more, post them and I’ll make another post to see if I fit yours.

zomg every musician seems to?
I can’t think of an exception.
The musician vibes must attract each musician from another.

Irish-Catholic-
