Stereotypes...

I was just wondering how people around the country see eachother... for example I am from the northeast and people from other parts of the country see us as Yankees and cold-hearted snobs. I just want to know what places are stereotyped for what.

South - Provincial and backwords

Well as someone who has lived all over the East coast i can say that everyone in the deep south views people from the northeast as vicious rich snobs and that everyone in the north thinks the south is a really retarded bunch of rednecks.

well...are those stereotypes true? the south one at least

um, yes.

There was already a thread about stereotypes like three days ago.

Apparently everyone in Texas has a horse and rides it to school a mile everyday.

Also, we have cowboy hats.

California = fruits and nuts

-rude too, but maybe that just goes for LA

Someone on CC asked if I owned horses, chickens, and pigs since I live in the South.

I said no, but I said I owned an Ipod.

I'm not sure what type of stereotype I would fit into, I'm from New Jersey. I've heard that there's a Jersey accent (but don't know what it sounds like) and that people think Newark represents all of the state (it doesn't) and that the state is full of swamps (it isn't).

NEWARK DOES NOT REPRESENT THE WHOLE STATE OF NEW JERSEY.

If it did...you would be shot upon entering the state.

Haha, because in Newark everyone is dead...haha yeah right.

My dad almost got jacked for his car in Newark...but the guy got scared off.

I heard that a security guy for a dentist's parking lot went to the pharmacy a block down the street...so he parked his huge old station wagon in front of the dentist's new BMW. He came back in 5 minutes and found his car moved and the BMW gone.

BTW, I'm dead serious...no joke.

My Grandparents live in Newark bro...they have never been robbed or shot at, or had anything stolen! Oh my!

Haha...shaddix I think I asked you that, but I was joking. I used to think everyone from texas had cowboy boots. I also thought all californians ever did was go to the beach.

People from neighboring towns are afraid of being stabbed in my wonderful hometown of Morristown, NJ. Its really not that bad, just badass

I was exaggerating a little bit. The whole city of Newark isn't bad. The airport is in a good location. Some parts are really bad though. What part of Newark does you grandparents live in? The story I told happened a few blocks from the I-280, First St., Orange Street intersection.

Morristown is a good area...how are people afraid of that town? BTW, doesn't Terrell Owens live there?

They live in the Central Ward section of Newark, the supposed worst part, on Blum Street below South Orange Ave, and not too far from Orange St.

If you come to Westchester Country NY, just to let you know, this place sucks if youre under the age of 20, go to the city for fun
