is one of those Tisch students (sorry I go to NYU) who is pretentious and firmly convinced they're the next Martin Scorcese because they created a 'film' (usually a documentary of their own lives) in which an 'alternative' person is forced to deal with the mundane realities of mainstream materialistic society which they refuse to acknowledge they're a part of because they refuse to cut their hair and instead dye is unusual colors, and the 'film' usually consists of the filmmaker and several of his/her friends prancing around in skinny pants to Emo music, all desperately vying to be the most 'alternative' one in the group...and they spend $200,000 of their parents money to go to school to learn to make movies, although they spend most of their time in washington square park smoking weed to fight "the man".

wow, brieb08, i dont think you could be any more ignorant

Just because someone is in nursing does not mean they were either not smart enough or hard working enough to become a doctor. Doctors and nurses are two completely different entities. Maybe if you weren't such an ignorant... well, the next few words i cannot post, you would realize this. Nurses are more of the people side of medicine. I would never want to become a doctor, but I am in nursing. I would get far more out of actually helping and caring for patients than doctors ever could. Think about the last time you had a doctors appointment. Most of that time was spent with a nurse. Some people, believe it or not, still want to reap other benefits of a job rather than money. Plus with the rising cost of tuition, medical school would simply not be an option. Plus, there's the fact that the time required to become a doctor and then the time you put in being a doctor is time that I could put toward raising a family or just spending time with my fiancee. So pretty much, I'm going to get a job straight out of college, start out at about 50k-60k, and I'll have much more time off to spend with my loved one. Yeah nursing is a hell of a lot different than being a doctor, you stupid mother******.

toblin - shame on you! most social workers are genuinely nice and caring people, I wish they made more money! or were you talking about my Tisch/film rant? :)

Purplepeace, you're missing the entire point of the thread. I'm pretty sure alot of majors that people are studying have been "dissed" in this thread.

haha I think its funny that purplepeace was so offended at what someone said about nursing she/he chose to insult doctors...this thread is a joke. It's meant to be funny. There's no need for you to get angry and starting cursing at other posters in an effort to justify your choice of career to nameless faces on the computer screen.

purplepeace, nobody thinks that, we are just stereotyping here. Don't take it seriously.

East Asian Studies- Wapanese people who are obsessed with Japanese things... If it's like my school, some people majoring in language are in here too... People who don't understand that they'll never speak Chinese/Korean/Japanese better than Chinese/Korean/Japanese people who speak English... Unless they started off young and already know the language (in which case the major would be useless) Likes buying Asian items and sticking in random foreign words in their sentences (OMG THAT's SO KAWAIIII)
