That same person can also know a lot about Japan. Vice versa. He/she will spend at least a semester overseas at Yonsei University in Seoul (if he/she is focusing on Korean). </p>
<p>I am getting all of this from 4 of my East Asian Studies friends… all white, all very knowledgeable of Korean culture, music industry, and celebrities. 2 of them have already been to Yonsei and 2 others will be going next year.</p>
