yea...thats about it

and should i do ed or rd because I am getting varied opinions. Some people say that ed is harder because the pool is more competitive but i dont know. So please give your opinion on what i should do and what my chances are

THANK YOU

RD is more difficult. ED is easier. In general, a lot of the RD applicants are waiting on Wharton or Harvard, etc.

You have a very good chance... your stats are good -- not sure if you should retake, because you have a 1600 on the old scale, and I don't know when NYU is going to start really counting the writing section.

Early decision is better because the admission officers are 100% certain you will attend should you be admitted. The downside of early decision is you can only apply for early decision at one school although you can still apply for regular and early action at other colleges. Also, financial aid is unpredictable although you can always appeal later.

Your GPA is good enough, assuming that you did not have anything below a C. In order to be competitive, it is generally better to have nothing lower than B+ (best if you have all As).

It's best if you join a club suited to your business interests. It is also good to pursue other interests as well but it is best to have a leadership position so they know you can participating a lot in it. I am not sure what is FBLA is though but the awards and competitions you are in does show your interest in business.

You should also apply for other colleges for courses in the summer. Having a excellent grade in summer college courses show that you can indeed do college work, not just high school work.

Your SATs are very good. Your writing score is alright. Not too high but not low at all. NYU does not take your writing score on the SAT as much. However, this does not mean they will not see it. However, I think your writing score is good enough to be an competitive applicant.

Notice your recommendation(s), personal statements, and essay will be major factors. Be sure to find a teacher or adviser that knows you well, especially one that has a positive view of you and often in contact with you.

i got one b- freshmen year but that was because i dislocated my knee and had rehab every day..but i will put that in my personal statement...besides that i got 2 b+'s and all a's

thanks for all the advice...keep them coming

btw FBLA-Future Business Leaders of America-the biggest national high school club for business lol

and two other things
im the head marketer for the robotics team
and president of the censored news clubs

ok im done

FBLA is a good club. You may want to state a few major positive items you have done in the club.

One B- is fine. Notice that even applicants with all As or 4.0 GPAs were rejected before.

I do recommend that writing in the personal statements or additional information section about your injury. However, I would prefer that you do not state that you have a B- because of the injury. Instead, I strongly suggest writing about your continued motivation for your academics and business interests without directly stating your motivation and your grade. I will give you three examples below.

1) I have a B- because I dislocated my knee and had rehab every day.
(This is based on your post.)
2) Despite dislocating my knee and forced to go to rehab every day, I am motivated in my academics and interests despite getting a B- in one course.
(A direct statement about being motivated despite having an injury.)
3) Unfortunately, I was injured around (date or time). However, thanks to my family and friends I was able to pursue my academics and my interests. More specific statements on a personal level may be better.

Which one do you like more? Which one do you trust?

Based on my opinion, the first one sounds like someone trying to hide up a poor grade, which is too obvious.
The second one sounds like the person is lying.
The third one is trustworthy because the person is merely talking about his/her activities, which can be interpreted as being motivated. The admission officer will see your B- on your transcript so there is no need to state it. However, he/she can see that your injury is around the same time you have the course that you got B- in.

Best of luck on your future application.

yea...i definitely like the third one since its modest
and i definitely need to include injuries in my personal statement cause i have been riddled with injuries
9th-dislocated knee
10th-fracture on my writing hand
11th-dislocated my knee again

stupid soccer lol

but thanks for your help...appreciate it

any more advice..........

Be yourself, do not try to impress the admissions officers on your essays and personal statements.

I have nothing else to recommend unless there is new information.

ok theres been a change
my teachers fked me over
they made mistakes on my report card and i have to fix them
but if i am not able to fix them cuz my school is fked up

what are my chances now for early decision at stern?
do i still have a chance?

o yea as an update
sat 2's

You need to try and get a life. Obsessing about your grades and school choices as a sophomore will give you ulcers and high blood pressure by the time you are finished senior year. You are doing well, you should have a good chance either ED or RD.

well i would agree with you about me getting a life but the problem is im a rising senior and am completing my applications as we speak.

no offense

But thanks for the good chance comment lol
