I’m going to say that Stern is a reach for you. I think we can agree that Stern is roughly comparable to schools ranked between 12-18:
What I have noticed is that Stern is extremely numbers focused. Most of the students at stern tend to have very competitive numbers, competitive enough to fall within the median at nearly every top school. The reason why they are not at said top schools is because most stern students are robots or overrepresented groups. (How’s a little self-deprecating humor for you?)
I will say that my extracurriculars in high school were not as top-notch in comparison to my peers who got into ivies but that my numbers were comparable or superior.

I can’t really speak for the admissions officers, but what I have ascertained from this trend of taking students with high marks but not necessarily good extracurriculars tells me that NYU Stern is trying to move up in rankings while sacrificing fit and diversity.

If it’s not too late, I suggest you retake the SAT. If you get a 2300+ on your SAT, I will say you are a shoe in.

Not to offend you or anything, but your extracurriculars to me do not look that impressive. If you are planning to get into a top institution on the weight of your extracurriculars alone, you’re going to have to dig a little deeper.
