Stern Courses

What are the required courses for stern students? and do stern students have to take a science class because unfortunatly i got a 3 on ap bio last year and i dont want to retake and hate science with a passion..thanks

I never heard anything about a required science course... let's see... the ones I've heard of so far (from viewbooks and stuff) are: Business Law, Econ, Business and its Publics, Calc, Stat.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of science, either.

Here are the requirements:
http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/emplibrary/CR_Wksht_2010_Updated.pdf

A representative program is available here: http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/uc/prospectivestudent/academics.cfm?doc_id=5155

One of the requirements is

"V55.02XX
Natural Science
or any course in biology, chemistry, physics and earth sciences"

I think Math is a natural science, so you should be ok without bio/phys/chem.

AHHHH... NOOOOO! Science! Well... maybe not too bad... I've got eight credits from AP Chem... goes to look at required course list

No, math is NOT a natural science. There is a separate math requirement (calc I, or any math class above that).

I wouldn't worry if you don't like science; the nat sci classes tend to be fairly easy. I took astronomy!

ijailin89: if you have credits from AP chem, you should be exempt from the natsci requirement.

but can i postpone taking the requirements i dont want till like senior year?

Yes, if they're not prereqs for any other classes. Get WTE, econ, calc I, stats, and Business & Its Publics out of the way freshman year - if you're not planning on taking many other classes in CAS, conwest & world cultures & natsci can definitely wait.

oh sounds good thanks a lot for the help
