Stern Housing

i got stern for housing and i not too thrilled about living in an all girls dorm. how bad is it?

i would like to know the same… =/ stern wasnt even one of my requests and i got stern…AND a triple… UGH

omg me too!! i was hoping for a triple with my friends in the units, and im the only who got a triple in stern!

same!
wanted the units, but got stern triple… :(

ava. k, what college are you in? are u in engineer or chemistry?

I’m curious how many got something not on their list of preferences.

Well, you know, not everyone can get their choices. There are only so many unit rooms. Some people are bound to be “unlucky” and end up with something not of their choice. This happened to my friend last year.
On a brighter note, the triples in stern are very spacious. My friend’s room was like two unit doubles in size.

Are the Stern triples bigger than the Stern doubles?

to answer funfun, stern was not one of my choices, and neither was a triple. but its actually comforting to know that im not the only one who didnt want to be in an all girls dorm so i can be surrounded by people more like me

csk221 im in l&S

i didn’t put Stern as one of my preferences either.
ava. k, im in L&S too… i heard stern is for engineers.

did anyone of you guys sent a transfer request?

yeah i sent one

How big is a Stern triple? On Cal Day I briefly visited a Stern double, but I didn’t check out a triple.

stern was not one of my preferences…
and i’m a bit worried that it’s too far from the main campus and i’m so lazy lol
in fact they first told me that i didn’t get a housing offer, but i emailed them and they said that they could offer me a stern triple (wow it seems like everyone in stern is living in a triple haha)
urgh…
i was thinking of requesting a transfer but i’m not sure if i should do that…because they didn’t even offer me anything at first!

o well…i hope stern’s ok

^^^ This was probably because you forgot to put “any room, size, location” as one of your preferences. Otherwise you would have gotten a housing offer.

In my opinion, Stern has the best location on campus. Seriously, it is closer to most of the big lecture halls than Unit 1.

This is my plugging in the Stern Facebook group: Stern Hall Class of 2013 which currently has 40 members if you have a hard time finding it.

On there, you will find a discussion on why Stern is AMAZING, discussion on how the Stern stereotypes are annoying and usually false like most stereotypes, lots of pictures of the dorms, our freshman pen pal program, and lots of events the 2013 Stern girls have already planned for the upcoming year.
