I'm applying to NYU, and I'm wondering which school I should apply to. I want to go into advertising, in a creative role, and my choices are either marketing at Stern or Media, Culture, Communication at Steinhardt. I feel like the earning potential would be greater at Stern, but I'd get a more career specific education and a more creative job at Steinhardt. As for admissions, Stern is a bit of a reach, but I can probably manage Steinhardt. So if I apply to Stern and don't get accepted, can I defer to MCC? How do I go about doing that? Thanks!

Bump

And what do you guys think about Gallatin as an easier alternative to getting into Stern?

As far as I know, you can’t apply to one school and defer to another. I’m also not really sure anyone here would know the exact differences between a MCC at Steinhardt and Marketing at Stern.

What specifically are you looking to find out about in terms of differences? Current Stern junior … marketing is one of my majors, and I have a lot of friends in that Steinhardt program.
