stern renovation

NYU Stern Concourse Project - Learn More About Stern's Transformative Renovation

wow, impressive.

I thought you were supposed to be studying for our micro exam today, coolnyu. :P

Eh. It’s cool, but really not necessary. They’ve really got to build on other things first, like the endowment or financial aid.

sounds great… but I guess I’ll be attending NYU when it’s going through all the constructions.. WSP under construction and Stern building being renovated… ughh..

It’s way necessary - those bathrooms in the UC and LC? Awful. My friends and I used to joke at the prospective Scholars events that the kids would take one look at the bathrooms and vow never to come to NYU…

And in any case, I think people are generally more willing to give for concrete results like building renovations, so it doesn’t necessarily follow that they seriously sacrificed building up the endowment to renovate the building…

Yeah, the bathrooms are pretty bad. But I still don’t think it’s necessary… desirable, but not necessary. Do we really need a glass front, for example? The time they spent on fundraising could have been spent on other things, even if the money wouldn’t have gone to endowment. And they say it’s not going to be a distraction, but how will it not be a distraction when the entire UC or LC is closed off? shrugs

How is it going to affect pedestrian traffic (within the buildings) for the time being? My high school underwent significant construction during my junior spring and my senior year. It was pretty bad. How are they going to implement the changes without negatively affecting the students?
