I got my Sunday at the Square invite. What are the benefits and privileges of this program? And anyone know how much scholarship money is given out?

does anyone know if ED kids are eligible for the scholars program?

Got mine as well today. I'm not really too sure about the $$ situation. They'll probably lay it out for you if you go.

Is this confirmation of acceptance?

Any Stern Scholars students here able to tell us a little about their experiences?

from what i hear, stern scholars is an awesome program with many perks including travel, entertainments tickets to city hotspots(broadway shows, museums....), free stuff, lectures, meeting and lots of other cool stuff. go to the stern undergrad site and seach for scholars. I think Stern has 80 scholars. Plus, they are giving you scholarship. Its a very good offer.

sounds awesome

dylin, i saw one of your threads on the business majors forum. I just gotta tell you, I'm in almost same position with you. I received a full scholarship + $4500/yr from Rutgers, my state school. I'm still waiting for Wharton and some other top schools. As of now, though, I think Stern is def the best school out of your list for what you and I are want to do. I've been doing research for a while now, and aside from Wharton, no school compares with Stern for finance and i-banking. In addition, because we're Stern Scholars, we're most likely going to recieve scholarships from NYU, from what I hear, $10-$25k a year. So, as of now, if you don't get into Wharton, and money isn't that big of an issue, Stern is the best choice.

njchino, really? I was reading some of these forums and people are saying that most of the scholarships offered are pretty low and that there are a lot more in the lower ranges of the "1000-25000" that they specify. If it is REALLY 10-25K for us....damn.....I'm definitely in. Also, it'd be great if stern has 80 scholars. I just want to make sure this isn't some BS "scholars" program that they put you in to try and make you feel special or something.

wow....now I'm really excited!

Oh, by the way, are all scholars guaranteed a scholarship?

Not all scholars get a scholarship. Financial aid is determined mainly by need. Only approximately 20 Stern students get true merit scholarships.

O_O!! only 20?? But....do they only make the offer to people who have confirmed their enrollment or do they make the offer to greater than 20 people, expecting that approx 20 will matriculate?

anyone know approx how many stern scholars invites were sent?

It is absolutely and completely untrue that only 20 students at Stern or 20 Stern Scholars receive merit scholarships. This only further reinforces the fact that the information propagated in this on-line forum is nothing except conjecture.

Limiting merit scholarships is a good thing for Stern. It is becoming a more like Ivy League schools who generally don't give merit awards and focus on financial need.

Whether you believe me or not, to find out the truth, you can ask the dean yourself on April 2, 2006, Sunday at the Square.

you got schooled wyseson. jk

hahaha, thank you NYU Uadmissions =]

I must not be gullible enough to believe that NYU UGad is for real.

you don't get college rep just like that, cc verifies your status. check their policy or something. its nice that you're not that gullible, but sometimes you have to take things for the way they are. I bet the rep is looking for the name Jesminder in the transfer list. lol

Didn't see where it said "college rep" under their name. Either way, Jesminder wouldn't show up on the transfer list, as its only a username. lol

Yeah, they're going to track her down from her username and say that she can't attend because she didn't believe the rep was real. Yeah, that's exactly what will happen.

/sarcasm
