Hey can you guys tell me which one is a better school? NYU Stern or Cornell? what are the differences between them except for the fact that Stern is a business school?

Not much but for pure business and finance I'd go with Stern. Many people just care about the Ivy name when not realizing that Stern's job networking is better for NYC. Personally, I'd go just because of the education as Stern's curriculum directs you to your career.

If you aren't sure about business I'd go with Cornell and do Econ or something LAC-ish.

yeaaa.. but would you say they have the same ranking?

Ranking is inconsequential. Visit both (if it is down to those 2), and choose the one you feel you could thrive in.

Stern is in NYC, the financial capital of the USA. That gives it a natural advantage in business. So if you only care about business, then Stern would likely be better school in the purely academic point of view.

As a university as a whole, Stern is at a natural disadvantage. What are you even looking for?

It's pretty hard to compare a business school to a university...if you want to major in business/finance etc, go to Stern...if you don't, go to Cornell

Cornell AEM is likely to get up to the level of Stern in five years or so. For now, from a purely business view Stern wins, but Cornell AEM is probably just as good for a general business education vs. one in finance. It doesn't matter...I've read that many students of NYU CAS Econ get the same job as those from Stern, just as Cornell students who study Econ. Stern is primarily a big deal if you intend to go into finance, as it will get you to Wall Street.

That is not true. The postgrad surveys show this.

will you link that info?
