Stern vs Haas?

Hi everyone!...I was admitted by both UCBerkeley and NYU.My major is finance. Both schools are awesome so I have a hard time picking between the two.

Could you please help me evaluating those two schools and give me some suggestions?About campus culture, college atmosphere, and academics(especially finance)...I will appreciate it!:)

THanks~

The world’s Capitol of finance is New York City…

NYU is in New York City…

Need I say more?

But seriously, if you want a job in finance then your opportunities will be much greater at Stern.

I’m having trouble with this decision too!

What I’ve gathered from looking around CC is that the decision largely depends on where you want to end up after college (east vs west) and what career you want to pursue. If you’re really into finance, I believe Stern offers an easier path into Wall Street, although Haas is well recognized too. Also, you’d have to slave away for another two years before applying to Haas, where admission isn’t guaranteed (unlike Stern). I’m torn between the two, though, because of UCB’s campus and so-called ‘college experience’ compared to the city life within NYC.

For finance, it’s hard to beat NYU Stern’s reputation.

Any more opinions? I’m debating between the same schools too.

I received no financial aid so NYU is sooo expensive for me. Would it be worth it to go to Stern still? Or is Haas a better choice?

What’s the cost difference between Stern and Haas?

For undergraduate at NYU: $60000
For undergraduate at Cal: $30000

IWantAn800 - Go to UCB, just make more of an effort networking. $120-130k is too much to pass up.

To the OP - If they’re both roughly the same cost and you want to go into finance, go to Stern.
