Stern vs UVa

What d'you think?????????????????????????
Am interested in finance.

Anything having to do with finance is better in NYC. You have Wall Street in the same area of the city, and all the big firms are there. Honestly, Stern beats even Wharton in location. At least, that's what I think.

Consider UVa, NYU is attractive and all but overrated because of the NYC location.

More insight,
http://bwnt.businessweek.com/bschools/undergraduate/06rankings/

i'd say anything top 10 is a good choice. (unless wharton, which is a great choice) uva is ranked higher, so if ranking is everything. nyu is in a better location, so if location is everything.

& from these boards, it's usually stated that for finance, wharton, then nyu.

Well, what do you value in your education? It's probably easier to get internships at Stern (especially during the school year), but UVa's academic program is pretty good too. If you're in-state at UVa too, that makes a huge difference in terms of value...

P.S. the newest BusinessWeek rankings are here: http://bwnt.businessweek.com/bschools/undergraduate/07rankings/index.asp But please keep in mind that the rankings are kind of messed up (I mean, BYU might have a good business program, but I highly doubt that it's better than Stern's...) Part of the reason is that Sternies like to complain, and since ~30-40% of the rankings are based on student evaluations, well... it puts the rankings more in context.

BW rankings are messed up beyond belief. Stern is a highly recruited program, maybe only second to Harvard and Wharton. If you want to do finance, short of those other two schools I can't think of anywhere better.
