Stevens Institute of Technology: will they accept me?

hello I was wondering what are my chances of being accepted into stevens.

i have fairly low sat score: 1900

my gpa is 88.5 (weighted but not including the senior grade)

i have some well furbished volunteer hours (music and hospitals)

with this, can I get in for computer science program?

(I applied ED)

The highest end I can give for a 88.5 weighted is a 3.65, thus the GPA is a little low. Match then.

If the conversion made by Stevens’ staff is more like Stony Brook’s… a 88.5 weighted will be a 3.35 and then Stevens is a low reach.

Contact the admissions staff personally. Stevens will be a reach for you. You’ll need to personally convince admissions that you’re up to the challenge and can be a successful student there. The last thing they want is a student over their head. You need to make sure they know that won’t happen in your case.

Make a good case for yourself and interview well. Learn about the school. Make them feel you are already part of their culture.

The sooner you do this, the better! Good luck!
