I am a junior in high school and I am interested in going to Stevens and would like to know my chances. Looking to major in either engineering or physics or a hybrid of the two. GPA conversion might be off since my school uses a percentage system. I have a 93 weighted 88 unweighted. Approximated this to be about a 3.6-3.8 weighted. My sat is a 1480. Planning on taking math 2 and physics subject tests if that helps. I have good EC’s, such as doing an engineering internship in nyc over the next summer and volunteering in my community and in India. I also do clubs actively in my school. Looking to get two great rec letters from teachers. Main setback for me is that I have a lot of C’s on my transcript, yet my gpa evens out to what I stated previously. A lot meaning one per year. The rest are mostly A’s with a B or two. I plan to ED I or II, what are my general chances? Anything i can do to improve them? Are my chances significantly less if i choose to RD? If anyone that got accepted can share their stats or any other general Stevens info would be great. Thank you in advance.

if u do ED, u r 100% accepted
Really? I knew it isn’t that hard to get accepted but I thought my grades might be too low.
My son will be a freshman at SI this fall. Thankfully, he received scholarships totaling $55,500. If you’re considering engineering, here’s a valuable tip re Stevens: Join a FIRST robotics team, preferably FRC, if you’re able. In our search for colleges, we learned that Stevens puts a particularly high value on students who have FIRST robotics experience. They give the largest FIRST Robotics award of all the colleges we looked at - $6,000 per year! All that’s required is a short essay. Additionally, incoming freshman have a summer reading assignment. The book my son needs to read is “Spare Parts” - it’s the story of four kids on a FIRST Robotics team. He knows of a number of other robotics kids who will also be freshmen @Stevens. They know that FIRST Robotics students have had a unique learning experience. FRC students are mentored by engineers and CS professionals, come out with an incredible amount of learning under their belts and they want these students. All the best!!!
Mech, great point you made about Robotics team. My son is on VEX Robotics team. Do you think FRC is being look upon more favorably than VRC? TIA.
