<p>I was just wondering why Steven's Point MT program is never mentioned on CC. My daughter auditioned (we are from WI) and thought it was great. She has a number of friends who are there and they love it. She also knows of several alumni who are doing quite well (including off broadway credits) in the industry.
Yes it is smack dab in the middle of Wisconsin....They do have a senior showcase in NYC.</p>

<p>So I just wanted to throw that out there for future MTer's looking for a good program that may be a good safety for you....only since it is not as well known and they probably have fewer applicants...but again, they have some great talent getting their BFA's.</p>

<p>I would love to answer any questions about the program at UW-Stevens Point. Yes, it is true that we are in the middle of Wisconsin. However, if the location is not a deal-breaker for you, there are also a ton of great things about our program - such as the Senior Showcase in NYC where we have private appointment auditions with casting directors and agents.</p>

<p>I went to school there. Granted it was… a while ago… but they are a damned fine program. Have been for a long time. Just goes to show you, just because a school has fashioned “a name” doesn’t make it good, and just because you haven’t heard of them doesn’t mean they don’t know how to train future artists.</p>

<p>In case anyone else out there is waiting to hear… I called the department today. Letters are “probably” going out tomorrow. Snail mail only.</p>

<p>Good to know, my D auditioned in Chicago for acting and MT and I was wondering when we’d hear something. Someone above said they’re wait listed - how do you know?</p>

<p>My D received an acceptance phone call for the BFA-MT from Brad on March 4. He said an official letter would come in the mail in a couple of weeks but we still haven’t received it.</p>

<p>Interesting…I don’t think anyone has posted acceptances from them on the CC list. Anyone else get a phone call?</p>
