If you are looking at public universities, some offer in-state tuition rates to out-of-state students who meet certain criteria. The packages can vary widely from school to school, both in the total amount offered and the mix of different types of aid. Grants and scholarships need not be repaid, so the more you get in those categories the better. You can also look to outside sources for scholarships. While these tend to be small, you may be able to collect several of them and every little bit helps.</p>
