Yeah another complaining thread.
Anyway my grades close tomorrow and it seems like i will end up with

95 , 100 , 89, 89.
I have an 89 in both classes because they grade ridiculously.

I hope i can convince them tomorrow to bump me up that one point so i can have a 4.0

Have you guys ever gone through this? it really sucks

Yeah…I hate it. I tried begging my math teacher to bring up my B to an A, and he promised me if I worked hard this term he’ll bump up my grade. This is almost like playing favorites, which I don’t really favor… so we’ll see what happens in 3 more days.

I was in this position not long ago (in AP Econ), but I got a 100% on my last test and bumped my 90% (considered a B+ in my teacher’s class) to 92% (considered an A-). :D

Happened to me once, sort of.

Got a 79.5 in a class for the quarter, getting an 80 would’ve put me on honor roll.

Guess who didn’t round in the end? Bleh.

My spanish teacher might (first 89) because she likes me and i’m going to beg.
My english teacher doesn’t really hate me , or like me . she has SERIOUS favorites and i’m not one of them. I’ll have to beg her a LOT

School’s should impose policies about talking to teachers about the grading policy at the end of the semester.

You don’t see this type of sh1t going down in college. If you asked a professor to bump you up you’ll get shown the door. It’s pretty unfair if you get bumped up and another kid didn’t just because you begged for it.

But you’re in high school, it’s expected to have its fair share of beggars and slackers. I never did it in high school, it just seemed so pettish and unprofessional. What I did though was clarify grading policies at the beginning of the semester to know where we both stand.

Just don’t expect free handouts in college!

Good luck.

I feel as though the majority of my teachers would slap me or look at me as if I had a third head if I (or anyone) begged them for a grade bump…

Its not even that, i was absent like 3 times this quater, and missed assignments in both which i now have 0s for and so im stuck a 89 when EVERYONE knows i earned an A.

Why weren’t you allowed to make up those assignments?

lol… Why does EVERYONE know about your grades?

And yeah, if they’re excused absences teachers have to let you make them up.

This is kind of pathetic. Take what you earned.

“It is even that”

If you are absent in college and didn’t turn in your work, too bad.

Besides, if your zeroes caused you to be in your situation because your teacher didn’t let you make up work for absences, then why would you think they would bump up your grade?

lol

Is your grading scale on a 10 point system (100-90 = A?) because then I’d say go for it, but I don’t agree with lobbying teachers to raise grades just because. I had to lobby this year, but that was for a big reason (to keep my B average and not dip to a C, and NOT have to take my final exam). But I take what I earn otherwise.
