Sticky application question...

Hey all--
I just began filling out Oberlin's application supplement, and a question on there is "To what other colleges are you applying?"
Oberlin is more of a match school to me--not a reach (or so says the Princeton Review, haha). I'm also applying SCEA to Yale, and to Georgetown, Dartmouth, Swarthmore, Hamilton, Colgate, Barnard...and possibly a few others.
Should I put things like "Yale" on there? I don't want Oberlin to reject me because they think they're my safety school or something, or that I really want prestige but I would fall back on them. I am genuinely interested in going there, just like all the other colleges I'm applying to. I love all of them (just some more than others).
Help!
Thanks

I'm sure they wouldn't kill you if you put in a couple words (a short sentence) saying that you are genuinely interested in Oberlin and that it's not your "fall-back" option.
Don't lie!

anyone else?

Why not just tell the truth? Say where else you are applying. Maybe you can say that you are really interested in the __________ program at Oberlinn but don't say "It is not my fallback plan." I think if you said that their attention would be drawn to the fact that they probably are your fallback plan and they should give your spot to someone else.

Those questions are usually optional. That said, I have no clue whether it would be to your advantage to answer or not (I have the same dilemma at a couple of colleges). The questions are:

Should we answer that question? If so,

Should we put top-notch schools down, should it be a mixture, should the schools be similar, or should they be worse than the question-asking school?

I'm gonna bump this thread - i want the answer too
