@JackTupp, I totally agree, another one of my concerns was getting distracted by all the partying and college life ! I think i’d be much more focused if I was still at home.

@DidiHolly, Thanks ! You were very helpful as well ! But you said “5 - register for summer and winter sessions” - Could you explain further what exactly this is… ? please (:

and @UCLAGlobal Thank you as well ! You really helped, UCLA is basically my dream school. I’d LOVE to go there. But, they don’t seem to have the second major i’m interested in.
I know about the TAP program because I called UCLA. But at the moment, the only school I can find that has both majors i’m interested in is Irvine. (And I think UCB does, but I haven’t really checked in out fully). Anywho, the community college closest to me, doesn’t offer TAP. BUT, there’s a college approx 20mins away that does… Is it worth the drive ? Should I attend the CC closest ? or the further CC, with TAP ??

CC’s have two main semesters - Spring and Fall, but they also offer short intersessions in both the Winter and Summer. A normal semester is 16 weeks, an intersession is only 6 weeks. By ensuring that you take one or two classes during the intersessions you can get through your IGETC et al in two years. Many students want to take off the summer, but if you are serious about getting out of CC and into UCLA you should take the opportunity IMHO.

As far as which CC to go to, I only have experience of Pasadena City College (which has been awesome). I would recommend going to a large CC if possible, and for UCLA I would suggest either PCC or Santa Maonica. Between the two of them they account of the majority of CC to UCLA transfers each year.

Regardless of where you go, you should really consider a school with TAP, for the reasons I listed before. If UCLA is your focus, then TAP is an easily obtainable advantage. Why would you NOT go for it?

Oh, why thank you ULCAGlobal, I definitely see where you’re coming from. It’s a shame I live in San Diego, or I would attend one of those two community colleges. I’ll look into a college with the TAP program (:
I just thought it would be pointless because it’s only priority admission into the College of Letters and Science or whatever, when I plan to major in CS.
