sticky situation

Hi all, I've been reading different threads but none seem to relate much to mine. I am a second semester freshman at a flagship state university. I have realized that the huge school is just not really for me and the academics are not really challenging at all. I've got a 4.0 in college with about the average amount of EC and I wasn't the hardest worker in high school and had a 3.3. 630 on the math and 630 on the english for the SATs.
I'm honestly not a terrible kid BUT I've had the misfortune of putting together a bit of a record in my first semester here. I've got a guest in university policy violation and my own university policy violation, both stemming from separate incidents involving alcohol.
I would like to attend a smaller school with a good reputation. I'm thinking I'd like to apply to Brown, BC, and Wesleyan.

I know Brown is a ridiculous reach but I'm looking for advice on the other two. Should I apply this year while I have the 4.0 or should I wait until next year when my university violations might be less damaging and my hs grades would count less but I risk getting some A-s and falling to a 3.8 or so. Or shoud I just not bother because I have sealed my fate by my violations? Or any advice or any other recommendations for good schools I could get into in the New England area?

Thanks for any help

I think you'd be better off waiting a year. That way, SATS (which are below the midpoints for all three schools), high school grades and your policy violations this year will all be less of a deal.

Even with some A-'s you'd still be above a 3.7, which is the magic number for transfer admissions. I think going in with a 3.8 over three semesters applying as a junior is a lot better than applying as a sophmore with a 4.0, mediocre high school record and a history of university violations,.

Thanks yea, I just saw Browns transfer rate is 3 percent so I'm gonna go ahead and forget about that one.
