Still a little indecisive about my minor.

Hey everyone,

I'm still trying to decide on what I should do for my minor (or rather the 15 hour related coursework component of my Computer Science major). I chose Math at first but seeing as how maybe one upper level Math class here seems useful, I would rather choose something else. I thought about Philosophy as I'm interested in a few of the courses for that. Any Computer Science majors or anyone else want to give me some pointers on what kind of secondary concentration I should maybe at least take a look at and decide? I do know that I don't want to do anything Business related. Just a personal choice. I know this is mainly a choice I have to make but just wanted to see what other people in my major ended up doing and whether it helped them out. I figure Philosophy could help anyone out in my opinion (not for getting more money). Also, as of right now (and very tentative to change) I want to do programming work for whatever place I end up working at but I don't want to work at some boring financial company. Maybe a research lab would be cool. Thanks for the help.

Maybe a foreign language could be useful. Or there may be some second major program your school has that combines two disciplines... at mine there's this "Human Computer Interactions" thing that combines psychology, design, and computer science. Alot of people find psychology interesting and worth of a minor, too.

Don't really want to do a foreign language (at least not right now). Would do psychology but there are already too many people in the program as it is.

Bumping this topic.

something easy

^ Haha yeah I would've done Physics or something but that **** is way over my head. =P

maybe geography

Just do something that interests you. :)
So if philosophy is what interests you, then go for it. I'd just be worried about getting all your reading for that done in a semester/quarter where you had a major project to do.

Yeah still not really sure. I feel like anything could end up being a waste of time. A lot of people in my field minor in Math but I don't want to. Ah ... so indecisive I always am.
