Still another UCS admissions question

Two things: First ordered both of my DDs test scores on 12/24

TwinK’s scores arrived and are posted on myadmissions but Twin E’s have not. The people in the admissions office have told me conflicting things. One, that the official scores don’t HAVE to be there until 2/15. And the other that scores don’t HAVE to be there until 7/15! Who is right and should I just drive down to Davis and hand deliver the score reports?

The second thing is that TwinK’s highest math SAT is not the one that comes up on her myadmissions page. Is that because you don’t superscore? Also since she did markedly better on the ACT she sent those as the scores she wanted to be considered but had to send SAT1 along w/ SAT2 and do the admissions people sort of put on blinders in that situation and look only at the ACT and SAT2?

thanks in advance HM

UC does not superscore SAT I. Takes the highest scores in one sitting into account. ACT scores matter. If they are higher than SAT, they will automatically take the ACT scores into account. This is an automatic calculation done by the UC Computer-in-the-Sky. So, don't worry.

Can't help you with the postings of scores, since I am not associated with UCD Admissions. I don't think hand delivery will help. Only official scores received through the testing services count.

thanks brassring. Good info. I realized my typo. I really know that it is UCD not UCS...chalk it up to being sick

Looks like someone got the staff in trouble. Here is the official stance on UC Davis’ test score deadline which should be relayed when you contact our office:

UC Davis prefers that official scores are received by the end of January, so much so that we state they are due at this time. This assures us that we have the proper scores in the students file when needed. Since we will use the self-reported scores in absence of the official scores (this means absolutely zero, zip official scores have been received), the self reported scores in the review and the deadline to receive official scores will be July 15. Note that the UC official deadline to receive official scores is February 16.

So for UC Davis, as long as the self reported scores are listed correctly we wouldn't need official scores until July 15. However, if we have a lower official score then we would recommend getting the higher official score into our office by Jan 31 (Feb 16 at the absolute latest) to guarantee the lower score won't be used.

The MyAdmissions site will list the highest scores received from ACT plus Writing, SAT Reasoning and SAT Subject exams. When you call or when we review the application, the adviser will only be able to see the highest of the ACT plus Writing exam or SAT Reasoning exam (So you have more information available to you through the MyAdmissions site than I have if you took both the ACT and SAT exams).

I hope this helps clear up some of this. If you study hard now you too can pass the UC Davis Adviser exam!

Thanks UCD admissions I didn't mean to get someone in trouble but hopefully the whole office is now giving out the same information. Happily I just checked the myadmissions page for the D whose scores had not yet been reported and there they are!!

Now I can actually relax a bit.
