Still any hopes for school Merit scholarships?

3.8-3.9 GPA Unweighted
Class rank (last time I checked) 18/402
PSAT 164. I didn't study honestly. Retaking again my soph and junior years
Classes: Honors Physical Science-A, Honors English-A, Algebra 1A – A, Career pathways/PE (mod course) A. Algebra 1B – B, Us history A, Honors English A, Design 1 – A.
Freshman year ECS:
Wind Ensemble
Key Club**
District Science Fair Honorable Mention
Book Club
Digital Media Club
*Secured three leadership positions next year
Took 2 AP’s
-AP govt and politics
- AP Us History
(Both self-studied, haven’t gotten the scores yet back)

The one B (89 but my school is on the block system, so a B counts as a 3.0), is really stressing me out. If I continue in the next years with 4.0's, my UW gpa will still be around a 3.96. I was looking at colleges that award merit scholarships (such as WUSTL, emory, Tulane, USC, UPitt..etc.). Will my chances be hurt by my less than perfect GPA? What can I do over the next three years to improve myself?
Thanks, and I appreciate your feedback.

For National Merit, only the PSAT in Junior is counted. Shot for 220s and you should be fine in most states.

If you score 2200 on the SAT or 33 on the ACT for real, then you could get $20k or even a half-ride at Tulane (or, if you live within 50 miles of Tulane, $27k is more than a half-ride)…

Plus if you make NMF you’d get a half-tuition scholarship at USC.
