Still continue?

I'am a Physical Education major attending a CUNY college in the NYC area. I did not graduate high school and earned my GED and continued my education at a community college. My GPA during my stay at the community college was horrendous around a 2.5. My current GPA is 2.94. My overall major GPA is 3.14. My question is, being that the average education major's GPA is around 3.3 should I continue given my poor academic history? Once again I'm in the NYC area.

Why is your GPA lower than you would want? Is it because the material is honestly over your head? Are you doing everything you can to get the grades you want?

Or is it a matter of wishing your grades were higher?

I won’t kid you-- the NYC is brutally competitive in terms of jobs.

But there ARE jobs… people get hired all the time. What are you doing to make yourself a more attractive candidate?

Are you working in any Phys Ed capacity?? Coaching Little League/ CYO/PAL sports?? Did you volunteer to help at the NY Marathon? At the Milrose Games (do they take volunteers??) If not, why not? There are so many youth organizations that need your help… lots of coaching experience might help an administrator see past a less than stellar GPA.

So, if this is something you really want to do:

 1. Get your grades up
 2. See what else you can add to your resume.
