hi....
i think you should be able to get into Hofstra....
the best thing would be to talk to your admissions counselor..you can find them on the Hofstra website...just ask them and they'll get intouch with you..they were also silent on mine for a while until i talked to mine and she told me i was missing some stuff which i'd sent...idk why,but i did send them again and i got a decision in a week's time...
just try it...:)
good luck!

My daughter went to the "My.Hofstra" website to check on her application status about a week and a half ago. It states a decision has been made. She is still waiting for the letter in the mail. I called the admissions office and asked why it is taking so long to receive the letter. I was told they don't send the letters out right after posting the "decision has been made" message to their website. Thank God she already decided to go to another school. If this had been her first choice, this wait would be painful.

i just e-mailed my admission counselor and she told me that a decision was STILL not made. ugh! she said "my guess is by the end of the month". my dad called in the beginning of the month and they said I should hear back in 2 weeks and i never did. i really need to know if i got in because i want to go visit there. may 1st is going to come so fast! hofstra is the last school i'm waiting on.

Hey alex55,

I submitted my application to Hofstra along with everything else that was required in December (No, I didn't apply for early decision or early admission) but anyway, I submitted everything in to them in December and it's now March and I STILL haven't heard back from them. I called their admissions office a few days ago and the lady I spoke to asked me if I hadn't received a letter from them and I said I hadn't. Turns out, they were missing the apartment number in my home address, so I gave it to her and she told me that if I still didn't get anything from them in the mail in two days to call back. Then, like two days after that I called them back and I spoke to a different lady and she told me that a decision hadn't been made yet. So, the day after that I called back and the first lady that I spoke to the first time I called them answered me and asked me if I had received a letter in the mail yet and I told her that I hadn't received anything at all. So, she told me that the letter I was supposed to get in the mail was to tell me that I needed to schedule an interview with one of their schools. She gave me a number to call and I called to schedule an interview, which isn't until April which I'm pretty sure is just going to prolong their decision, making me wait longer, because according to her a decision will be made after my interview.

wow! That is rediculous! do you mind me asking what your stats are? if i have to go through all this work to go here, i might reconsider and go to Quinnipiac University. hofstra is very unorganized =/

Well, I'll be honest, alex55. The interview Hofstra wants me to go to is with their School for University Studies which is for students who don't exactly meet the school criteria but who they believe has potential to do good while in college.
When I sent in my transcript to them my GPA was a 3.3 (I'm not exactly sure what it is now)
My SAT score was a 1380 (all 3 sections combined). I know didn't do too great on the SAT's.

Btw, I got an email from Hofstra this morning saying that a letter was mailed out to me telling me that I had to schedule an interview (a letter which I STILL haven't gotten yet) and that if I haven't done so already that I should call the number there to schedule one (which I already did).
I'm thinking about calling their office of admissions later on today to make sure that they have my correct address on their records because I never seem to get anything they're mailing out to me. So, either my stuff keeps getting lost in the mail or they just never mail it out like they say they will.
