Still giving decisions?

UMich is giving decision in rolling base?

Yes, Michigan uses a rolling decision process and they are still accepting people. Will be thru April 1st.

acceptance and rejections at the same time?

of course...why wouldn't they be?

Yes, and they'll be making decisions on all of the deferred people.

so they do it mixed then..
cuz most ppl that got the decisions are accepted

Sucks for me then, lol... although I'm still hoping for an acceptance letter... my app wasnt completed until like January 13th or something like that. 1470 and top 3 or 4%... way involved and plenty of awards I guess we'll see. To think, I was hoping for the honors college lol.

If you're a Michigan resident, I still think you have a great chance of acceptance.

Mhawk, it's ok. My application wasn't completed until mid January and I was still accepted.

hhhsandy, not necessarily "most of the people" were accepted. maybe on CC, but that's certainly not the case outside of it. there have been acceptances, rejections, and deferrals from day 1.

Some weeks they only send admit letters and hold everyone else. Other weeks they send admit and reject letters. Sometimes they also send defer letters out, but other times they just hold all those people in the middle and don't send anything.

ayay..i havent heard from them..
why......

has anyone been rejected? or deferred?
btw, what does it mean by deferred? (waitlist?)

Deferred is only for schools with Early Decision, they could accept or reject you in December, or they could also defer you until Regular Decision time in April.

Waitlist is after Regular Decision is announced, and they waitlist students who they may later accept if some of the students they actually accepted turned them down.

So complex. So technically a students can be deferred, then waitlisted, and never be accepted. The pain and suffering.....

Deferred is not only for ED schools: it also is used by rolling admissions schools (Michigan, Wisconsin).

jrpar is right. Deferred is also used during the regular admisions process by schools like Michigan. It means "We can't act on your application yet, but here's a letter so you don't think we lost your file or forgot you."
