I am currently a sophemore at a public school. I screwed up my freshman year at a different private school because of many different factors and wound up with a 1.8. I went to summer school and transfered to my local public school and I have been happy all around there. One of the things that I hated about my old school is that they shoved religion down the students throats. I am still finding my way religously and found this very off putting. This year I have been doing way better than my freshman year. I have a 3.6 right now and grades come out in two weeks for the first grading period.(with 1 ap class) I am in film club and volunteer every other Saturday for 5 hours. I was wondering if I still have a shot at loyola at all and I was wondering if Loyola would be like my old school and stop in the middle of math class and talk about how liberals are bad and not to mock God or else you will be struck down by him. Thanks for all your help!

no, not at all, LMU doesn’t shove religion down the throats of students. As a freshman, you might get a theology class that is not focused on any one particular religion but explores several different religions. Academically you definitely have a shot, LMU is a super fun school and i’m sure you probably already know they have a decent film and television program. There is a chapel on campus and even a few clergy members, nuns, etc, but i’ve never seen them in my two years there (i suspect they’re mythical, like big foot lol). Tons of like minded people, i’m jewish not really religious and SUPER left/liberal/free thinking/almost a hippie and it works for me, so you should be fine.

What other majors are well known at LMU?
