Still haven't heard anything!

Hey,

Anyone know why I still haven't heard anything back from UConn? I applied EA before Dec. 1st (I think it was like Nov. 28th or something) but I still haven't heard anything. I called today and asked if my application was complete and the lady said it was. I'm getting really worried...

Thanks.

Same here…except… SAT scores were sent in Sept. 12, application filed on line on Oct. 4 and transcripts received by UConn on Oct. 26.

Hi searchin4college,

My son hasn’t heard yet either, and he applied EA. Don’t worry, as I believe UCONN has until mid-February. I think it’s safe to say that those students who UCONN definitely wants (high GPAS, high SATs/ACTs, type of major, ECs, etc.) get accepted first, as this is a rolling process. The longer before we hear, the more likely that you might get deferred, but stand a chance to be accepted through RD. But fear not, as they still have plenty of time to decide. It’s probably also safe to say that if you were a definite rejection, you may also have heard right away. So relax (as best you can) with the thought that you are still very much in the running.

I was wondering if they were even in over the break and sending out letters - or whether we should just wait until later in week of 1/4 before process cranks up again.
I guesss soemone is in the office if you got through.

Don’t worry, I applied November 14th and just reeceived my decision December 26th.

I also applied on 11/14 EA and got the letter on 12/26. The letter was dated 12/23.

Thanks for all your replies!!! I guess I’ll just keep waiting and keep my fingers crossed.

I JUST GOT MY LETTER AND I GOT IN!!! YAY!!! Does it say in the letter if I got into the honors program? Cause it doesn’t say anything about honors on my letter. Anyway this is great news even if I didn’t get into the honors program.

searchin4college,

congratulations! That’s great.

My son was accepted in the honors program and that was included in his acceptance letter.

Congrats to your son!!!

Congratulations to you both.

For reference, it seems the admissions office is typically taking 4-6 weeks to send out letters this year.

Congrats!!!
I’m still waiting for mine :/

Congrats here too…my “procrastinator” daughters sent it in the 30th of Nov. and we are still waiting. I think they were so centered on the common app that they would lose track of UConn’s…they meant to send it a couple of weeks earlier.

I applied at the end of October and still haven’t heard anything

I applied November 15th, heard back a couple weeks ago! December 13th (I think?). Accepted to the Business school! So happy! Now I just have to wait to hear from the other RD schools!

I am still waiting. Applied Nov 28, in state, GPA 96 unweighted, SATS 1900. I am worried a lot of my friends have already heard. I just have to get in. :(

Fortune…Keep the faith. You’ll be accepted.

Thanks MBJ. I called and a recorded message said due to the large # of ED applicants they can not look up individual applications. It also said you will receive an e-mail once your application is complete. I haven’t even received an e-mail. I hope I hear soon the waiting is torture.

my S applied 11/15 liberal arts (political science)we never rec’d an email or a letter many others from his school have heard- Still waiting in CT!!

To be honest, listening to students in the past with UConn, there really isn’t any rhyme or reason how things go out and sometimes who is accepted. It is a very large school and I don’t know how well staffed they are. It might also depend how they section off the apps as they come in, who looks at what.
