Still haven't heard anything!

I opened a snowy door to see 2 big envelopes this afternoon. I was so happy because UConn was a financial safety along with being a good school. My daughters were happy, but would like a smaller college if possible. They received almost 7700 a year which would leave mainly R&B. It would be hard for any other college to beat that but we will see.

Congrats to your daughters!! That’s awesome! It’s great that they got them on the same day too (Did they apply the same day?)
Is there a date on the letter? I’ve been waiting since October for a decision…I hope it comes soon!

December 30th was the date on the letter. They both hit the button on 11/30 and didn’t apply to any school, just the ACES program. One is more undecided, the other wants to explore accounting, but doesn’t want to lock into it.
I hope you hear soon…as I said earlier, there is never any rhyme or reason to the mailings, I remember this with my son’s class too.

It’s good to know that they’re at least back & reviewing apps…and I agree, there really isn’t any rhyme or reason to the mailings, so I guess I’ll just have to be patient  haha. Thanks though!
Btw, UConn is definitely a great school for students who are undecided, because they have tons of majors, and they’re very successful in the majority of their programs. Good luck to your daughters in whatever they choose!

Great news- Did you guys get an email prior to the packages? like I said s applied 11/15 and we have nothing- thanks

I received an e-mail approximately 2-3 weeks after I applied confirming my application was complete. Maybe you should try talking to a staff member via UConn’s online chat… I heard that’s pretty much the only way of checking your status

I asked my daughters and they didn’t receive any emails they saw yet anyway.

thanks- that is good so hopefully it is on it’s way- If not will do the online chat next week- Happy New Year and congrats to those that have heard and have been accepted

Congratulations - what was their scores gpas etc -you can post on the admissions thread please.

Arghh still haven’t heard from UConn! I submitted mine November 24th too :<

Demiitasse, if it’s any consolation, my son applied EA on October 23 (yes October, not November) and still hasn’t heard. We know that there can appear to be little rhyme or reason when they process these, and that their collateral says he will find out by early February. So, we’re patiently waiting. Best of luck to you!

I never received an e-mail saying my app was complete. I applied Nov 27? I finally did online chat on Mon. Jan 4 to make sure my app was complete. I received my acceptance letter on Wed. Jan 6. Some of my friends heard in mid-december and some are still waiting.

You definitely want to either call or e-chat, although I would recommend calling. When we finally called (and got through), I found out that my D’s transcript was lost! They had the letters of rec that were sent in the same envelope but not the transcript. Her guidance counselor had faxed a copy also just to make sure and they didn’t have a record of that either. Needless to say, we aren’t happy. We are hoping that they will still consider her for scholarships even though now she is officially too late for early action. It just goes to show you should never just sit back and assume everything is okay. That’s what they kept telling us… “it just takes time”.

S applied Nov. 30th and acceptance received on January 9th.

Son applied December 1st, received reply on Jan. 9th.
(Admitted to honors with scholarship).

still nothing. applied 10/25 so i know how your son feels, DadinMass

So sorry to hear about your situation, oosmom. Hopefully they will do right by you.

To others who are still waiting (like samjillian), rest assured. My son called and got on the chat, and was told that his application is complete and under review. When he asked if it was possible to learn when he might expect to hear, he was told that there are ‘hundreds of EA applicants who have not yet heard, and everyone should have an answer by the end of the 2nd week of February.’ So, we’ll all just need to sit tight and root each other on! Best of luck to all of you…

A couple of my friends and I got our letters today, we all live in the hartford suburb area.
I haven’t opened it yet :)

Thank you, Dadinmass!!! I actually went online to chat as oosmom suggested and it turns out I completely forgot I had to request an interview from the theatre department! Totally my fault, though for my defense the application wasn’t very clear about whether students were to request or wait to be contacted. Well hopefully I can still schedule an interview asap :]
Thanks everyone!

I just got accepted today!!! Thanks everyone for the support <3
