Hi everyone,

I found out about my acceptance to UC Berkeley on March 24.
I've been checking MyFinaid every day but there has been no updates.

Literally, there's View Messages (0) and Required Documents (0).

I've been communicating by email with the Financial Aid office, and they said that I should call them to confirm some information on my FAFSA. I did this last Wednesday.

After the call, they said they have all the information they need, and that my financial aid package will be available in 3-5 working days.

I still don't see anything on MyFinaid.

Does anyone else have this problem?
Or, has anyone else had this problem in past years?
I wonder when they will show my aid.
I know I'm getting some federal aid, so that should appear, at least, right?
I'm completely set on Berkeley but I want to see my aid before I submit my SIR!

Thanks in advance!

I suggest you calling them again on Monday. This is quite a weird thing since my FAFSA appeared 24hr after I called them.

Could there be a social security problem? Are you a natural born citizen? I know this is the case for many people (including myself).

Thank you for the response…I will consider calling them again.

I’m not a natural born citizen. I was born in Japan and I’m a Permanent Resident at the moment. I’m thinking that might be the case though, it being a social security problem. I don’t understand why Berkeley would be the only UC to have problems with it, since all the other UC’s I applied to and was accepted to gave me aid immediately. When I called Berkeley, I did tell them my SSN, so they confirmed that for sure.

Hmmm that’s odd… maybe giving them a call on Monday since the information should have already appeared by now :(!

I haven’t receive the package too !!! I’m permanent resident too… !!!
Should I call them also ???

Yup, call them steve. I was surprised how fast they got my FAFSA after the call. However, beware that it will take like 30mn-1hr for you to reach their phone line. Just be patience :)! Their operators are very helpful!

The thing is, they already HAVE my FAFSA. I wonder what’s making them so slow!
I’d really like to know my financial aid package and submit my SIR as soon as possible.
I wonder why it’s just Berkeley that doesn’t have this ready.
