still hyperventilating-duke ED and others

<p>ok so i really want to get into duke, so im applying ed. how do my chances look? chance me for rd: johns hopkins, tufts, georgetown, vanderbilt, cornell, and upenn</p>

<p>i have a 4.0 uw GPA (my school is public, semi-competitive)
my rank: 2/480
sat: 700 math (i know, im trying to raise it), 710 CR, 770 writing (why couldnt this have been my math or CR score?) total: 2180
sat subject tests: 760 Biology, i'm taking the other in november </p>

<p>awards/honors:
-i was a semifinalist for a science competition (pretty prestigious, nothing like intel/siemens though)
-publication in a journal (medical related)
-ap scholar with distinction</p>

<p>ecs:
-martial arts (4 yrs), instructor
-dance (3 yrs), instructor
-a lot of hospital volunteering
-key club--i have had a couple of leadership positions
-science club--i started and am president
-i have had 2 internships, all medicine related (research for one of them)
-i tutor kids in a foreign language and i'm an instructor for that as well
and some other stuff</p>

<p>teacher reccs should be good, my additional will be from the editor of the journal i wrote for. my essays i hope will be good..still working on them</p>

<p>you’re definitely a competitive applicant. your grades and rank as well as your ecs are great. your SAT is about average for duke (their average is 2150 i believe).
duke ED-reach, but i say that because it is for (almost) everyone. i know a bivarsity athlete with amazing grades and good scores who didn’t get in…that kind of thing is not uncommon in duke admissions.
