My intended major is pre-dentistry or computer science
but I am still not sure.

If I want to be a dentist, can I major in Chemistry ?
or does it have to be biochem or bio?

I'd like to add 1-2 more in match and safety.

I want school to be in urban/sub-urb setting, and in CA,DC,MA,MD,PA,VA,NJ,NY,WV, or ME.. and is well-known.

I was thinking about BC, GW, UMD for reach-match
but it seems like GW does not have much in pre-dent/comp.sc
and BC seems not giving much f/aid to students (is it true?)

Please give me a list of schools that will be good for me..

I'm pretty sure it's the same for dental schools, but for medical schools you can major in whatever you want as long as you fulfill all of the requirements (for instance I am a math major/chem minor, and one of my friends is attending Yale Med School after majoring in English literature with a chem minor).

GW is a huge school with a medical center. Pre-dental should be fine there. Yes, I am quite sure that any major is all right for dental school, and chemistry would be a great one. UMD-College Park should be a good choice for you, also.

Thanks OM and ugen! I guess then I can major in either chem or comp.science and still go to dental school. I never knew that. Is there any other colleges?

Thanks innocentbystande, I will look up HC. Can anyone give me couple more names that are pretty big in size (5000+) and is member of commonapp? I just wonder..

University of Michigan is large but has an outstanding reputation. Your SATs are a little low so you may want to focus on schools that do not require the SAT like Mount Holyoke, Middlebury, Hamilton, Holy Cross, and Bates. I think you will potentially get into a better school w/o the scores.

University of the Pacific is probably a safety for you. Strong science and health programs. It has a school of dentistry and also a school of engineering and computer science. Excellent music program too. (Dave Brubeck went there. So did my dentist.)

Thanks guys.. I didn't think about applying to colleges where SATs are not required. That will definitely help. Is there anyway to see a complete list of schools where SAT is not required? Also thanks for CW, UM, and UP. I think UM is reaching for me.. CW too. But thanks
