Still more questions!

Ok, so I recently made a thread similar to this, but I just want to be sure I'm doing the right thing. Of the schools I'm applying to for transfer, take Swarthmore and Amherst.

Swarthmore: supplement - 3 short takes, and then one longer piece about intellectual vibrance, etc. Now, should I talk specifically about "Why Swarthmore" in the longer piece about intellectual vibrance, or in the Common App main Personal Essay (which I will replicate for Swarthmore).

Amherst: supplement - response to quote, and piece about challenges, personal factors, etc. Again, same question: should I talk about "Why Amherst" in the personal factors essay, or in the Common App main Personal Essay which I can replicate?

Thanks so so much!!

Since you can send in different Common App essays for each school, it can’t hurt to talk about “Why School X” in both the Common App essays and the supplement essays.

I still have the same opinion. If they ask for a Why Us? essay then write one, if not don’t try to twist their prompts into that. If a Why Us? essay fits nicely and is a real response to the prompt then fine but don’t try to make it something it’s not.

Ok i will do so.

One more question: i have been painting and playing the piano for 10+ years. For my frosh apps, i submitted strong music and art supplements. Can/should I send in the same recordings and paintings? i haven’t had the opportunity to continue my interests in these areas, which is part of my reason for transferring…

bumpity bump

If your recordings and portfolio are high quality work, submit them. They can only help you.
